Ram A. Cnaan

Ram A. Cnaan is a professor at the University of Pennsylvania School of Social Policy & Practice and director of the Program for Religion and Social Policy Research. He is the faculty founder of the Goldring Reentry Initiative, which works to reduce recidivism among formerly incarcerated individuals. An internationally recognized scholar, Cnaan specializes in faith-based social services, social innovation, volunteering, and prisoner reentry. He is also a Global Eminent Scholar at Kyung Hee University in South Korea. Cnaan developed the first practice doctorate in social work (DSW), now replicated by dozens of universities in the United States and China, and is currently leading the development of a practice doctorate in nonprofit administration. He lectures widely and teaches in multiple countries, contributing to global conversations on social policy and community engagement.
