James Lance Conklin

Attorney Lance Conklin has been practicing Immigration Law for more than 25 years. He was first admitted to practice law in California in 1995 and has worked for some of the most prestigious Immigration Law firms in the United States. In addition to his experience in private practice, Lance has worked in the Non-Profit world at World Relief where he supported Immigrant Legal Services for low-income clients, and he has taught Immigration Law to new practitioners. He is also a Navy Veteran and has served as a minister. Lance opened Conklin Immigration Law, LLC (FNA Law Office of J. Lance Conklin) in 2014 where he exclusively practices U.S. immigration law. He holds a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of California, Davis, and a J.D. from California Western School of Law in San Diego. He also holds a Master of Divinity degree from Gateway Seminary (FNA Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary) in California. In addition to running a busy practice, Lance is an Adjunct Professor at Trinity Law School in California teaching an Immigration Law course and leading the Immigration Clinic. He also serves as Associate Director for Good Samaritan Advocates at City of Refuge, Baltimore. Lance previously served as Pro Bono Chair for the DC Chapter of American Immigration Lawyers Association from 2016-2024 and now serves on AILA’s National Pro Bono Committee. He also previously served on the board of Maryland Immigrant Rights Coalition, serving as President from 2018 to 2021.
