Elyse Slabaugh is a recent graduate of the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University. She grew up in a military family and spent most of her teenage years living abroad in Italy. While working at the International Center for Law and Religion Studies (ICLRS) as an undergrad, she became interested in attending law school and advocating for religious freedom. During her time in law school, Elyse had the opportunity to be a research fellow for ICLRS, serve on the Center’s Management Board and Executive Committee, and participate in three international moot court competitions on religious freedom. She has also worked with several other FoRB organizations, including IRF Secretariat, Global Peace Foundation, and Bellwether International, and has published an article in the BYU Law Review on religious freedom in American prisons. Elyse is currently serving as a Rising Generation Fellow with ICLRS, where she is involved in various initiatives to educate, inspire, and connect the rising generation about matters of freedom of religion or belief.
