Barbara A. McGraw

Barbara A. McGraw is professor of social ethics, law, and public life and professor of politics at Saint Mary’s College of California, where she is also the founding director of the Center for Engaged Religious Pluralism and its Prison Religion Project. Her work focuses on American identity, religious liberty, and the role of religion in public life. McGraw holds a juris doctor and a doctorate in religion and social ethics from the University of Southern California. She has authored, coauthored, and edited numerous books and articles on religion, law, and politics, including Rediscovering America’s Sacred Ground and the Wiley-Blackwell Companion to Religion and Politics in the U.S. She is a leading voice in the interdisciplinary dialogue surrounding interfaith leadership and civic engagement.
