Eric S. Baxter is vice president and senior counsel at the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, where he litigates high-profile religious freedom cases. He argued Mahmoud v. Taylor before the U.S. Supreme Court and has secured significant victories in federal courts across the country. His work has been featured in national media, including CNN, Fox News, C-SPAN, The New York Times, The Washington Post, and the Los Angeles Times. After earning his law degree from Brigham Young University, Baxter clerked in the Eastern District of Michigan and later became a partner at Arent Fox in Washington, D.C. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Russian literature and linguistics from BYU and speaks Russian and Spanish. He and his wife are the parents of seven children and have two grandchildren.
